Spending so many hours in front of the computer it is so lovely to feel, read and smell a printed magazine.  Helen from Doily Days successfully launched the fist issue in March – well done missy !

Thanks goodness all of my lovely couples found me in 2012 ; either by recommendation from friends whose paths I have crossed or from one of the alternative wedding blogs who have published my work over the last couple of years.

I first photographed and assisted on weddings in 2006 and I was totally uninspired and thought “ill stick to live music and event photography!”.  Then in 2010 I fell upon wedding blogs from the USA and attended a wedding event with the British Journal of Photography where Kat from RocknRoll Bride was speaking and showcasing alternative photography and I thought – “wow this is how I would love to photograph weddings” and soon realised there were loads of lovely couples that were creating alternative weddings out there too!  And Brighton-Photo was created.

So a special thanks is in order to all wedding bloggers who dedicate hours upon hours late into the night to bring fresh ideas, alternative venues, beautiful photography as a free online resource to help excited couples to gain inspiration, tit bits, DIY and budget saving ideas to create a their day that is unique, free spirited and just how they want it whether that be a intimate ceremony in a country pub or a going half way round the world …  a long way away from years of characterless golf clubs/hotels and stuffy vicars.

And to my lovely new Mr&Mrs’s what can I say you were all amazing and thanks for sharing your photos online and taking time to write about your big day of love. Thanks to my favourite blogs including; Rocknrollbride, Boho Wedding Blog, Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, Love Sussex Weddings, French Wedding Style , OohMrsJames Mr& Mrs Unique and Magazines Unique Bride Magazine , 91Magazine,  Perfect Weddings and the ultimate in wedding photography the directories Love Olio.  Looking forward to seeing my 2013 weddings on the blogs very soon ..(there are going to be some splendid affairs!) much love , Heather x

I was delighted to see the launch of  Unique Bride Magazine earlier this year showcasing the weird, the wonderful and the wacky of the wedding world.  On seeing this beautiful magazine I spoke to the editors about Tina & Paul’s woodland wedding as during the planning process with T&P I know it was going be be feast for the eyes and full of creative and accessible ideas … with a personal LOVE of hanging out in fields with friends at Festivals – it was my perfect day ; what a way to get married – a big party in the woods !
